General Discharge Permits for Discharges from Seafood Processing Facilities (SE) Notice of Intent (NOI)
The general permits for wastewater discharge increase the efficiency of the Department’s permitting process through the issuance of generic permits to categories of business activities which are generally very similar in their wastewater characteristics.<br> This permit covers wastewater from seafood processing operations including crabs, oysters and fish; auxiliary discharges limited to non-contact cooling water, ice machine drainage, steam or cooling coil condensate and inside crab shedding tray overflow; and storm water runoff associated with seafood processing facilities.

Obtaining the permit
- Step 1:
- Submit complete application (NOI or Transfer or Termination)
- Step 2:
- Submit Site Map
- Step 3:
- Submit Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan OR No Exposure Certification form, as applicable
- Step 4:
- To complete the application you submitted online, you must also print out the <a href="https://mde.maryland.gov/programs/permits/WaterManagementPermits/Documents/GP-Sig-Card.pdf">Signature Card for Submission of Online Notice of Intent</a>, have an authorized Signatory sign, and then send the original hardcopy to the Industrial Stormwater Permits Division per the form’s instructions.
