General Discharge Permits for Discharges from the Application of Pesticides (PE) Notice of Intent (NOI)
The general permits for wastewater discharge increase the efficiency of the Department’s permitting process through the issuance of generic permits to categories of business activities which are generally very similar in their wastewater characteristics.<br> This permit covers operators located in Maryland involved in the application of a pesticide that results in an eligible discharge to waters of the state. Eligible discharges include application of (1) biological pesticides or (2) chemical pesticides that leave a residue, when the pesticide application is for one of the following pesticide use patterns: Mosquito & Other Flying Insect Pest Control; Weed, Algae, and Pathogen Control; Nuisance Animal Control; and Forest Canopy Pest Control.

Obtaining the permit
- Step 1:
- Submit complete application (NOI or Transfer or Termination)

- Submit Site Map
- Step 5:
- To complete the application you submitted online, you must also print out the <a href="https://mde.maryland.gov/programs/permits/WaterManagementPermits/Documents/GP-Sig-Card.pdf">Signature Card for Submission of Online Notice of Intent</a>, have an authorized Signatory sign, and then send the original hardcopy to the Industrial Stormwater Permits Division per the form’s instructions.
